Blending personal experiences and research from scholars across multiple fields, this session addresses ways that all of us can better manage our careers and life goals when career meets reality.
Learning outcomes participants will receive:
- Several options of frameworks to use when managing your career choices
- A set of tools to assess your preferred style and guide your approach to career management
- A better sense of what you want out of your career, and how to avoid years of frustration chasing something you really don’t want or need
- A list of resources you can use for further exploration
About the presenter:
Rob Weber is vice president of human resources for Sears Holdings, Corp., where he is responsible for developing and leading the talent agenda for approximately 100,000 employees across the US, India and Hong Kong. Weber has enjoyed a 20-plus-year career in human resources for companies including Sears Holdings, Groupon, PepsiCo, Western Union and Qwest.
He studied economics and humanities at the UA, where he was a “Splat Cat” on the racquetball team. He presently resides in Illinois with his wife and two children, and hopes to find time between work and family activities to sit down with a good book.
