Group Awards

Each year, since 1943, the University of Arizona Alumni Association has presented accomplished alumni and friends with distinguished awards. Our goal is to recognize college alumni councils and advisory boards for outstanding achievement and/or service to the University of Arizona, their colleges, the UA Alumni Association, and their communities.

Group awards can be presented at a college or other event as determined by the nominating individual or entity and the UA Alumni Association.

Nominations for Group Awards to be presented at Homecoming 2011 must be submitted by May 2, 2011.

Nominations for awards can be submitted at anytime, provided the nomination is submitted at least three months prior to the event where the award is to be presented. If the event date is not yet determined, we need at least three week’s notice to fabricate the award, once the award has been approved.

Nomination must include completed application form and supporting documents required for the awards.

NOTE ABOUT HOMECOMING 2011:

Please note that at Homecoming 2011, on Friday, November 4, 2011, the Awards and Recognition Program is a special Alumnus of the Year Ceremony at which individual awards will be given. Group Awards will not be given at this event. Nominations for group awards are encouraged but those awards will need to be bestowed at other Homecoming-related or other events. For information on the Alumnus of the Year Award Ceremony, please see the description elsewhere in the Association’s web site.

JUDGING
Judging is done by the Awards and Recognition Committee of the University of Arizona Alumni Association’s Alumni Council. The committee will review and make determinations on the nominations for all of the awards. The UA Alumni Association reserves the right to suggest alternate awards based on the nominee’s qualifications and experience.

NOTIFICATION
Upon approval, award recipients are notified via a congratulatory letter from the President and Executive Director of the UA Alumni Association. The nominating individual or organization is sent a copy of the letter, along with the college affiliated with the award winner.
