The Galápagos Islands

April 3, 2019 to April 10, 2019

Explore one of the most biologically unique places on Earth. Spend a day on a guided tour of Quito, then embark for an intimate cruise guided by expert naturalists. Each island hosts exquisitely adapted species: the marine iguana, which is the only sea-going lizard in the world; the Galápagos tortoises — some species of which were hunted to the brink of extinction by 18th- and 19th-century whalers; Darwin’s finches, some of which have developed a symbiotic relationship with land iguanas; and more. Because the human presence is still relatively minimal, many of the animals are remarkably unafraid of visitors.
