Rachel and Timothy

Although our families have a long history together, my wife Rachel and I had only crossed paths a handful of times prior to college. Our first real meeting was our freshman year on the volleyball courts outside of the Arizona-Sonora dorms during a back-to-school barbecue. I joined her cousin’s fraternity and was warned not to date her. Well, I wasn’t going to let that stop me, and by November we were dating. We went to all the football games and basketball games together and even tried scheduling our classes together.

It was the UA that brought us together and it was fate that we both decided to attend. We graduated together in 2005, and in 2007 walked down the aisle in front of family and UA friends. We’ve gone back for Homecoming, family weekend, and even weddings of fellow UA alums. My wife’s brother and sister both attended UA after her and we like to think that it’s because of us.

We are now actively involved in the Arizona Alumni Association in San Diego (The BeachCats) and enjoy watching ’Cats games with our Arizona family. The University of Arizona holds a very special place in both of our hearts and now, 11 years after that campus barbecue, we are expecting our own little Wildcat in March 2013! Bear Down!
