Sarah Miranda

Sarah Miranda started her degree at the University of Arizona but transitioned and received her degree in hospitality management from Northern Arizona University. Accordingly, she is known as a “LumberCat.” She also is a member of Kappa Delta Chi, Delta Chapter.

Following her graduation, Miranda began working with resorts across Southern Arizona. Her career started at the Four Seasons in Scottsdale, followed by tenures at Tucson’s Hacienda del Sol and Westin La Paloma. Currently, she works for the City of Mesa as a member of their special events department.

In 2009, Miranda joined the UAHA board of directors at her mother’s suggestion. Her experience in management earned her a spot on the special events committee, which she chaired for six years. During that time, she helped plan the UAHA Portraits of Excellence scholarship dinner. The following year, she took on a greater role of leadership, co-chairing the event and moving it to the JW Marriot Starr Pass, where it would remain for the next five years.

Additionally, in her time as the special events chair, she headed the Celebration of Excellence luncheon and Homecoming Pachanga. She was also given the honor of commemorating UAHA’s 30th anniversary.

Miranda moved to Chandler in 2015, transitioning from her role in UAHA to join the board of directors for East Valley Cats. She has since chaired events such as their Toast & Taste Scholarship Dinner, where she honored Wildcat alums Terry Francona, Bob Elliot and Dick Tomey.

Miranda believes that every high school student should have the opportunity to go to college and that alumni have a responsibility to help incoming students be successful at UArizona. Her passion for supporting students is evident throughout her years of event management and fundraising for student support.
