Senior Living Community's Top 3 Exec are All Dual-Degree Alumni
La Posada celebrates 30th anniversary
Three people who obtained both bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Arizona are celebrating the 30th anniversary of the senior living community that they have worked with from its beginning.
La Posada, Arizona’s first nationally accredited continuing care retirement community, was started by Tucson Medical Center in 1987 in Green Valley. La Posada’s top three executives — (from left) Paul Ide ’67 ’72, Joni Condit ’75 ’81 and Lisa Israel ’80 ’82 — came to La Posada from their work for TMC.
By 1997, La Posada had become an independent, stand-alone, not-for-profit community. It is home to more than 700 residents and is the eighth-largest nonprofit employer in the Tucson area, with more than 500 employees.
Paul, La Posada’s senior VP, chief financial officer and chief information officer, received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and a master’s in computer science.
Joni, La Posada’s senior VP and chief operating officer, earned a bachelor’s degree in microbiology/medical technology and a master’s degree in finance.
Lisa, a Tucson native and La Posada’s president and CEO, obtained a bachelor’s degree in sociology and a master’s in public administration with a certificate in gerontology.
The three also are the executive team at La Posada’s second campus, Nakoma Sky in Oro Valley, where construction is expected to begin this year. The University of Arizona Eller College of Management estimated two years ago that La Posada had a $52.9 million annual economic impact on the Green Valley/Sahuarita area.
