Robin Shambach is the managing principal of BWS Architects, a 25-person Arizona firm that specializes in community-driven architecture for K-12 schools, libraries, municipal buildings and more. With over 38 years of experience in the field, Robin has been instrumental in shaping the firm's success and its growth from a local practice into a respected regional leader. During Robin’s 20 years of leadership as principal and project manager, BWS has completed numerous high-profile projects, including university research and athletic facilities, community health clinics, public work for municipalities across the state, and work to serve Native American communities, earning numerous service and design awards along the way.
As managing principal, Robin is responsible for the financial stability and operations of the firm while remaining deeply involved in the day-to-day management of projects. Her expertise in project management and construction technology, coupled with her strong communication skills, ensures the success of each project from inception to completion. Robin’s reputation for delivering thoughtful, client-focused solutions has made her a trusted leader in Arizona’s architectural community.
Robin's commitment to the architectural profession extends beyond her role at BWS Architects. She oversees a scholarship program that offers internships to design students at the University of Arizona, where she is a regular donor and active volunteer. Robin also serves as an expert consultant and mentor at the U of A’s College of Architecture, Planning, and Landscape Architecture. A strong advocate for women in architecture, she supports the Women in Architecture Society and mentors emerging female professionals to help them succeed in the field.
