Christine Bracamonte Wiggs is a passionate public health leader whose work has transformed communities across Arizona. As president of the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona Foundation for Community & Health Advancement and vice president of community and health advancement at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona, she leads the organization’s statewide philanthropic, public health and corporate social responsibility efforts. Her mission: to create healthier lives for all Arizonans by addressing health disparities, expanding access to care and investing in innovative, community-driven solutions.
From her early work conducting community-based research at the University of Arizona to her current leadership in health equity and systems change, Christine has remained committed to improving the lives of vulnerable populations — from youth experiencing homelessness to families impacted by substance use and chronic disease. She believes in working with communities to ensure that health solutions reflect their needs and values, and under her leadership, initiatives like Mobilize AZ provide critical resources to underserved areas, strengthen public health infrastructure and elevate the voices of local partners.
Christine holds a bachelor’s degree from Gonzaga University and three U of A degrees: a master of public health and master’s and doctoral degrees in family studies and human development. A dedicated Wildcat, she shares her time, insight and support to strengthen U of A programs and inspire students.
For her extraordinary leadership and advocacy for community health, the University of Arizona is proud to name Christine Bracamonte Wiggs the 2026 Alumna of the Year for the Mel & Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health.
