The Creative Economy: Artists Shaping Communities

Image

When

4:30 – 6 p.m., May 21, 2026

Where

Join Hasan Elahi, Dean of Arizona Arts, for a dynamic and engaging talk exploring the power and impact of the creative economy within communities.

This conversation will introduce the concept of the creative economy and examine how artists, alumni, and arts programs drive innovation, strengthen local economies, and create meaningful connections. Discover how creativity serves as a catalyst for vibrant, thriving communities—and how artists play a vital role in shaping that future.

Drawing from the experience of an internationally recognized artist, with work featured at the Sundance Film Festival, Centre Georges Pompidou, and the Venice Biennale, and as a recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship, the talk brings a global perspective to the discussion.

After the talk, connect with fellow alumni over a relaxed happy hour and continue the conversation around creativity, community, and impact before heading to enjoy your evening show on or off Broadway.
