Are you passionate about the history of pharmacy and/or health sciences? Are you looking to gain museum experience?
Training is provided to ensure all volunteers are confident and well informed about the museum and its mission.

Greeters

  • Welcome visitors, provide a short museum orientation and answer questions.
  • Availability for 9 a.m.-noon or noon-3 p.m. shifts on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
  • We ask that you commit to two or more shifts a month.
  • Experience in health sciences or pharmacy is a plus but not required.

Guides

  • Lead engaging tours of the museum (interpretive gallery and exhibits in Skaggs and Drachman halls), sharing insights about the exhibits, history and collections.
  • Tours are offered Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., with occasional Saturdays.
  • Guides start as greeters.

Other positions

  • Special events volunteers assist with open houses and other programs. This role may involve occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Collections management volunteers help with accessioning and related duties.
  • Curatorial volunteers help develop digital and temporary exhibits.
  • Marketing/communications volunteers support our growing social media presence and museum store.
  • Other: We accept volunteers with special skills that benefit the museum (exhibit fabrication, Spanish-language translation, etc.).
