Michelle Durham

2026 AOY Honoree, College of Humanities - Class of 2002

Michelle Durham is a television executive and industry leader with over two decades of experience in programming strategy, business operations, scheduling and consumer research. She currently serves as senior vice president of programming at Warner Bros. Discovery’s U.S. Networks, where she oversees content strategy, scheduling and operations for 10 cable networks. Her portfolio spans live sports, original series and acquired content. 

A proud graduate of the University of Arizona, Michelle earned bachelor’s degrees in French and communication in 2002, laying the foundation for a career defined by innovation, adaptability and leadership in a rapidly evolving media landscape. She later earned a master’s in telecommunications from Ohio University, and she continues her professional development through programs at Harvard Business School and MIT. 

Her career began at Tucson’s KUAT-TV and has included senior leadership roles at WarnerMedia, Turner, Viacom and CBS International. Throughout, she has built a reputation for driving results through strategic planning and team development. She is a mentor and advocate for the next generation of media professionals, giving her time to Women of Warner and the Junior Hollywood Radio & Television Society. 

Michelle also is an advocate for the humanities and a supporter of the U of A College of Humanities, returning to campus for planning sessions and working with the college on a matching gift challenge for Giving Day in 2025. 

For her remarkable career and her commitment to the college and its students, the University of Arizona is honored to name Michelle Durham the 2026 Alumna of the Year for the College of Humanities.
